KEEPING CHILDREN SAFE

Whilst local authorities play a lead role, safeguarding children and protecting them from harm is everyone’s responsibility. Everyone who comes into contact with children and families has a role to play.

Our school fully recognises the contribution it can make to protect children from harm and supporting and promoting the welfare of all children who are registered pupils at our school. This will include recognising when they are at risk and how to get help when they need it and identifying children who may benefit from early help. We also assess the risks and issues in the wider community when considering the wellbeing and safety of our pupils. The following documents and links provide important and helpful information to support our collective drive to keep the children in our care, safe from harm.

Early Help

Early help means providing support as soon as a problem emerges, at any point in a child’s life, from the foundation years through to commencement of adulthood.  We will work with local agencies in Rotherham to put processes in place for the effective assessment of the needs of individual children who may benefit from early help services.

Any pupil may benefit from early help.

Online Safety

Children are spending an ever increasing amount of time online. Although we recognise all of the benefits the children can experience by being online, we are also very mindful of the potential risks that children might encounter while using the internet. Due to this we have created our Online Safety Policy and shared Acceptable Use documents for staff, pupils and parent/carers.
