Our weekly PE sessions will take place on a Monday and a Tuesday. A full PE kit must be worn, which includes:
white t-shirt
black trousers
a jumper
waterproof jacket
suitable trainers
As our PE slots can either be indoor or outdoor, your child will be required to bring suitable outdoor clothing and footwear.
Homework will be sent out on a Friday and will be expected to be completed and returned by the following Wednesday. If your child struggles with their tasks, we encourage them to seek our help on either of the days before their homework is due; alternatively, please do not hesitate to contact us via a note with your child.
Children are expected to read three times a week, as well as complete a weekly times tables assessments. Therefore, children are expected to practice their times tables weekly, whether that be online through Reflex Maths or TT Rockstars or even using paper and pen.
By the time children reach year 6, they are expected to be able to rapidly recall all of the times tables. Here at Flanderwell we teach them in phases (see the list below):
By the end of Year 2, most children are expected to know the 2x, 5x and 10x tables.
By the end of Year 3, most children are expected to know the 3x, 4x and 8x tables.
By the end of Year 4, most children are expected to know the 6x, 7x, 9x, 11x and 12x tables.
Please click below to see the medium term plan for the next term in year 2. For a breakdown of learning in the subjects not included in the medium term plan, please see individual curriculum pages.
