School Information

Flanderwell Primary School currently has eleven classes from FS1 – Y6. Historically, the school has been one form entry but due to increasing numbers we have created extra classes, and have recently had a four classroom extension to our school.

The Local Authority is also building an Autism unit on our site, which opened in May 2014. It is a LA run resource.

Each year, from January to July, we also have our own pre-school for children aged 2 and 3 years.

Our school serves a very mixed catchment area that includes the Flanderwell Estate, Sunnyside and Woodlaithes Village. The majority of our children go on to attend Wickersley School and Sports College, with whom we have strong links. Flanderwell Primary is part of the Wickersley Learning Community and we believe strongly in partnership working to achieve the best outcomes for our children.

Relationships with parents and families are of the utmost importance to us in enabling all children to be the best they can possibly be. We are fortunate to have a strong team of support staff, including a Learning Mentor, to support families and children throughout their time in our school.

We have a number of extra-curricular clubs that children can join including football and gymnastics, and we regularly take part in local sporting festivals. We also have a breakfast and after school club which parents pay to send their children to.

We have strong links with Wickersley St Alban’s C of E Primary School, and our Executive Headteacher takes the lead for both of our schools.

The whole team works consistently hard to provide the best start in life for all our children and to move our school to the next level of success.

Flanderwell Primary is a school to be proud of
