If you are wanting any ideas on how to keep your children active at home, then please visit our PE curriculum page. On there you will find useful website links and activity booklets to ensure your children are participating in 60 minutes of physical activity a day, during the school closure.
On Saturday 19th October, some children, from our school football team, had the exciting opportunity to play the half time match at New York Stadium. The children we extremely excited from the moment we arrived and played incredibly well, despite a goal being scored by the opposing team in the last minute. We also thoroughly enjoyed watching RUFC play against Oxford regardless of their 2-1 loss. Even though the children did not win, their spirits and enthusiasm continued until the end. A massive well done. You did us proud!
PE – Cheerleading
This half term, Y5C have been working on their cheerleading skills.
They have learnt about arm positions, teamwork skills to perform stunts and even performed a cheer routine.
Well done Y5C
A big well done to the Y5 students who took part in the Rotherham United Football Tournament on Tuesday.
They were an excellent team and showed skill, good manners and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. The team came 2nd place in the round they played. It was a fantastic opportunity to take part in this tournament and we are hoping there is more to come.
A huge well done the Riley, Talia, Isla, Amy and Rebecca on competing in the Rotherham Cross Country Finals this afternoon. They all gave 100% effort and made our school very proud.
This afternoon, Y6 carried out their sponsored activity to raise money for the NSPCC. Everyone enjoyed the fitness circuit we had set up for them but they were extremely tired and very quiet after completing it! They did have quite a challenge on their hands though, completing all 12 stations. A huge well done to them all for persevering!
Cross Country Festival
A massive well done to the 24 children that took part in the cross country festival at Wickersley this evening.
A great effort by all.
5 children have earned a place in the final:
Y3/4 Girls – Rebecca and Amy
Y5/6 Girls – Talia and Isla
Y5/6 Boy – Riley
Mrs Cooper and Miss Lazenby had a fabulous evening at New York Stadium last night. Their outing was to see what Rotherham United can do for our school and community. Hopefully there will be many opportunities to work with Rotherham United in the coming months.
Watch this space!
