COMIC RELIEF – FRIDAY 15TH MARCH

Friday 15th March is Comic Relief day. Children are welcome to dress in red, dressing-up costumes or in funny clothing on this day for a small donation. All donations will be forwarded on to the charity.

On the same day, we plan to have a JOKE-ATHON in each class. Pupils are invited to bring in a short, simple, age-appropriate joke to share with their classes in the morning. All jokes will then be displayed in the link corridor, for all to see.

A visit from The Wizard of Oz

On Monday 10th December, the children were treated to a visit by the pantomime ‘The Wizard of Oz’ .

It was a wonderful Christmas treat enjoyed by both children and staff.

SUNNYSIDE PARK COMPETITION

In the summer term, several of our pupils entered a competition to create a new design for Sunnyside Community Park’s entrance sign. There were so many good entries, that it was felt that several designs should be included in the sign instead of just one. As you can see, the outcome is fabulous!

The pupils, whose designs are included, will be receiving a letter from school on Monday, inviting them to meet at the park with local councillors and take a closer look at their work.

What an achievement!

Well done to…

NEWS UPDATE

All our pupils are really looking forward to performing their Christmas concerts this week. They have worked very hard to learn songs and word they may have to say. All families should have received at least the minimum number of tickets for each performance. For each performance, there may have been a small number of spare tickets, depending upon family uptake. Please send in any tickets you will not use to the school office so that we can re-distribute them.

Raffle tickets will be on sale during each of our performances. Prizes include a Christmas hamper, sweet hamper, play centre voucher and varying other donated items. Tickets cost £1 per strip. Members of our Arts P.L.T also be selling hand-made Christmas gift tags.

Thank you to families who have gathered together costumes and props for the concerts. We really appreciate your support.
