P.E.

P.E

At Flanderwell Primary School PE is an important part of the curriculum and all children have the opportunity to participate in two hours of PE each week. Within our PE lessons we cover the six main areas of the National Curriculum (dance, gymnastics, games, swimming, athletics and outdoor and adventurous activities). Our Year 4 children recieve swimming lessons as part of the KS2 curriculum.

We want our PE curriculum to allow all children to become confident in a wide range of physical activities and promote a healthy, active life style.

School sports clubs are offered at different times throughout the year and children are also given chances to take part in local sports festivals and competitions. If you would like to take part in any of our before or after school clubs, please see the office.

Children are encouraged to participate in physical activities during play time and lunch time. During playtime, our junior sport leaders run a range of activities for key stage 2 children. At lunch time, Mr Winter organises fun activities and competitions for children to take part in.

At Flanderwell we follow the new National Curriculum for PE which can be found by clicking here.

We also take part in many sport festivals with other local schools.
