Modern Foreign Languages

Every child in key stage 2 has the entitlement to study a foreign language. Therefore at Flanderwell, the modern foreign language we study is French. French is promoted throughout school and each classroom displays French vocabulary or children's work.

We follow the National curriculum and utilise the KS2 Framework for Languages as the basis for implementing the requirements of the programme of study. All lessons are planned from the Rigalo scheme of work, supplemented with other materials to ensure progression.

It is in our best intrest to introduce and teach  French in a way that is enjoyable and fun. Lessons will include:

  • Using ICT and interactive resources on Rigalo.
  • Using language in a variety of ways.
  • Developing knowledge and understanding about life in France and French speaking countries.
